ARES INTERNATIONAL TRAINING SCHOLARSHIPS 2027–2028: BELGIUM

The ARES International Training Scholarships support professionals from ARES partner countries who want to deepen their skills in a development-related field. For the 2027–2028 academic year, ARES is offering a new range of programmes at institutions within the Wallonia-Brussels Federation in Belgium.

The 2027–2028 call is currently open. This is not a general scholarship for any Belgian university or degree. ARES is offering ten predefined training opportunities: one specialised bachelor’s degree, eight one-year specialised master’s degrees, and one six-month continuing professional development course.

Applicants must review the approved programme list and its specific conditions before applying. The scholarship is intended to strengthen participants’ qualifications, professional networks, and ability to contribute to development in their home institutions and societies.

• Tuition fees for the selected specialised degree programme, where applicable
• International travel expenses
• Monthly subsistence allowance
• Insurance coverage
• Visa-related costs, where applicable

Qui peut postuler

• Permanent residents of one of the 32 ARES partner countries. African partner countries include Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Guinea, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.
• The wider partner-country list also includes Bolivia, Cambodia, Cuba, Ecuador, Haiti, Indonesia, Nepal, Palestine, Peru, the Philippines, and Vietnam. Applicants should confirm the residence and nationality conditions in the official call document.
• Applicants must hold a higher education qualification and have relevant professional experience.
• Applicants must meet the academic, professional, language, age, and other admission requirements for their selected programme.
