Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship 2027: University of Toronto, Canada (Fully Funded)

The Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship 2027 offers exceptional international students an opportunity to complete a fully funded undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto in Canada.

It is the University of Toronto’s most prestigious international undergraduate scholarship. The award recognises students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, creativity, leadership, and a meaningful contribution to their secondary school or community.

Approximately 37 Lester B. Pearson Scholars are selected each year. Competition is extremely high, and every applicant must first receive an official nomination from their secondary school.

• Funding for four consecutive years of undergraduate study

The scholarship is valid only at the University of Toronto and cannot be transferred to another Canadian institution.

Who Can Apply

• Be an international student requiring a Canadian study permit
• Be in the final year of secondary school during the 2026–2027 academic period, or have graduated from secondary school no earlier than June 2026
• Be nominated by your secondary school
• Apply to begin undergraduate study at the University of Toronto in September 2027
• Demonstrate exceptional academic achievement
• Show creativity and original thinking
• Demonstrate leadership within your school or community
• Meet the admission and English-language requirements of the selected programme

Applicants are not eligible if they are already enrolled in a post-secondary institution, began university or college studies before September 2027, intend to begin University of Toronto studies in a semester other than September 2027, or have not received an official school nomination.

Students from all countries may be considered, including applicants from African countries.

The Pearson Scholarship application deadline requires nominated students to submit the application and supporting documentation by November 6, 2026. Candidates should complete every stage early and avoid waiting until the deadline.

School Nomination Process

A student cannot nominate themselves. The applicant’s secondary school must:

• Register as a participating school with the University of Toronto
• Receive access to the nomination system
• Select one student for nomination
• Submit the nomination before the deadline

Each secondary school may nominate only one student per academic year.

Students should speak with their school principal, counsellor, or designated administrator as early as possible. Schools that have never participated may need additional time to register.

How to Apply

1. Ask your secondary school to nominate you for the Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship.
2. Apply for undergraduate admission to the University of Toronto through the approved admission platform by October 16, 2026.
3. After nomination and submission of your admission application, use the private and personalised link sent by the University of Toronto to complete the Pearson Scholarship application by November 6, 2026.

Applicants should carefully select their preferred programme because the Pearson Scholarship will apply to the programme for which they receive an offer.
