RHODES SCHOLARSHIP 2027 — KENYA (UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD)

Kenya has its own dedicated Rhodes Scholarship constituency, awarding two fully funded scholarships each year for postgraduate study at the University of Oxford. This is a separate, smaller constituency than the broader East Africa grouping — Kenyan citizens apply specifically through the Kenya constituency, not the East Africa one.

As with all Rhodes Scholarships, selection is based on a holistic combination of academic excellence, leadership, energy, and a demonstrated commitment to public service and positive impact — not grades alone.

What It Covers

• Full University of Oxford tuition and college fees
• Annual living stipend (approximately £20,400/year)
• Oxford application fee
• UK student visa and Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) fees
• Two economy-class return flights to and from the UK
• Settling-in allowance and access to the global Rhodes Scholar network and Rhodes House community

Who Can Apply

• Citizens of Kenya
• Hold, or be on track to complete, an undergraduate degree of at least upper-second-class (2:1) honours standard or equivalent
• Typically aged 19–25 at time of application
• Demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and commitment to public service
• Intend to pursue full-time postgraduate study at Oxford for a minimum of two years
